Saving filtered objects in PNG format

Postby Evan Henry » Wed Jan 18, 2012 3:13 pm

Hi, everyone. Please keep in mind that the following question could be very stupid.

My name is Evan and I've been using Inkscape for a few months now, mostly to letter digital comics. So far I've only had one problem I haven't been able to work out -- getting filters I apply to objects and paths to show up when I save the file as a PNG. The filters and effects show up just fine in all the other formats, but not in PNG (which happens to be the most useful format for me). Is there something in the preferences I could change to fix this, or am I stuck saving things to PDF and converting?

If anyone could help me figure this out, I would appreciate it very much. :)

Please disregard the above post. I should have been using the "Export" command all along. Mods should feel free to lock/delete this topic.

Feel free to chuckle to yourself a little... or even a lot.

Welcome to the forum! I'm glad you've worked it out. Yes Export bitmap dialogue is the way to get the PNG.
