I'm currently using Inkscape OSX version 0.48.
Why is is that when I copy and then paste any vectorized object it transforms that object to a bitmap? It doesn't matter what I do, I end up with a bitmap from a vector.
Usually I use Inkscape Linux and don't get this problem.
Copy And Paste
Re: Copy And Paste
Pasting vector objects as bitmaps is triggered by a known conflict between X11/Xquartz and Inkscape.
Please read this earlier comment «Re: Mac Snow Leopard?» for details and what to change in the X11 preferences to work around this conflict between X11/Xquartz and Inkscape 0.47 and later versions (did not affect 0.46 which had no support for the system clipboard).
(Note: you can change the described X11 setting on-the-fly without having to restart X11 or Inkscape - it takes effect immediately)

Re: Copy And Paste
OK. Thanks for that reply. I might look into sorting that but for the mean time I've just moved the project over to Linux.
Re: Copy And Paste
OK thanks for that. It's fixed now.

(It requires one click to deactivate a single setting in 'X11 > Preferences > Pasteboard' and copy/paste in Inkscape works just fine - really no need to sort anything out nor to change platform (imho)).
