I drew an arched shape that needs to be revised. In the attached pic, the top shows what I need the pink shape to be, outlined by the shape used to cut it.
The inside edge of the pink is to remain the same. The outer edge needs to be cut to match the green arch. I tried ctrl + shift + "-" and the outer edge cut to match the green arch fine (bottom pic). Problem is that the inside edge formed by spiro went crazy. Is there a way to cut the pink shape and have the inner edge not change?
Is there a size limit to have the image show in the post instead of as attachment?

Hi.
Have your green shape on the right over the pink in the middle -
select both and perform a "path difference" (ctrl -)

Convert the spiro-path object to simple path by pressing Ctrl+Shift+C before the booleans.
(Necessary step in 0.48.)
However you could edit manually the two paths intoone with a spiro lpe applied, but the semi-circular shape on the outside would be damaged.
Other solution would be to use clipping, depending on your needs.

Re: need help cutting shape made with spiro
Thanks to both of you.
Ragstian - It still went crazy when I tried ctrl -. I would like to keep it as a spiro shape to modify it later if possible. Do you know what happened?
Lazur - It cut ok when I converted pink shape to a simple path first.
Clipping works to make what you see correct, but in outline, I see that the original line is still there. I need to have the actual outline of the shape be what is visible as the image will be cut by a plotter which I think will cut what I see in outline mode.

It is a way to define an area where the object will be rendered.
Meaning there is no loss by subtracting, you can go back to the basic path and edit it after.
