In Inkscape Preferences > Interface > Windows, switch to the GTK save/open dialogs."

Version 0.48 shows a preview in the "Open file" dialog, but this is gone from following versions. How do I enable this preview for 0.91 and 0.92?
0.48. Includes preview.
0.91, 0.92. No preview.

Re: Enable preview in the "Open file" dialog?
Thank you Brynn! It makes the save/open dialogs look ugly (windows 98 style) but it works
Re: [SOLVED] Enable preview in the "Open file" dialog?
Well for me, the dialog's appearance is an improvement. In previous version, the dialogs had pink border highlights (no matter what kind of theme). At least those are gone now.
But hopefully devs can make the native Open and Save As dialogs work with a preview.

Hint: update to the current stable release 0.92.2 [*] if you dislike the workaround (resorting to the (less integrated but cross-platform) GTK+ version of the file chooser dialog for previewing a selected SVG file). The workaround used to be recommended for earlier (affected) versions of Inkscape (0.91 - 0.92.1).

[*] Inkscape 0.92.2 includes the fix for bug #802904, and preview images for SVG files show just fine now in the (Windows) native file chooser dialogs - just tested again myself by comparing the dialogs in Inkscape 0.92.1 and 0.92.2 on Windows 10.
