Printing .SVG Results In a Mostly Black Page...Solved!!!

Postby Hansblooey » Fri Jul 24, 2015 6:27 am

Win7, Inkscape Ver .91

After posting I got the idea to deconstruct the drawing to find out which element is causing the problem. As of now the tiny +- signs near the bottom are the culprit. The minus sign has 83% opacity in the "stroke style" panel thus triggering the Win, 64bit, opacity bug. They're from a DIN 1451 font I downloaded recently. The horizontal text elements are from the same set and no problems.
Hello All. Iv'e been having a great time learning how to use Inkscape for designing various analog synth panels. I have successfully etched five panels using the program to create the etch resist for the panel's design.
I'v'e come across a problem that has me stumped though... I have created a drawing that when almost half is on the printable area of the page it prints almost all black to an actual printer or a PDF printer. If I nudge the drawing a tiny bit off the page, it prints the design just fine. A black print on a white page as intended. There's nothing special about this version of the panel drawing. I could redraw it in 15 minutes, just curious about whats going on here. Iv'e checked previous versions of the same panel and it prints fine. Could somebody please load this .SVG and tell me what the problem is? Iv'e searched the database and other than a bug dealing with the opacity being at 100%, which I messed with, I don't see anything like this problem.
thanks again

The text object with the '-' sign in the bottom part of the drawing uses a reduced object opacity (95%) - does changing that to 100% improve printing (directly to a printer, or to a virtual PDF printer)?

If you did install the 64bit version of Inkscape 0.91, then likely this bug is triggered:

SUV Thanks Man that's the one. I read about the bug but this seemed different in some way. Guess not :)
