Splotchy text
Splotchy text
When I use
and then move the text, it trails splotches and the last letter is cropped, as you see it on this attachment. What can I do?

Re: Splotchy text
It's not a permanent mark on the canvas. Usually if I minimize the Inkscape window, and bring it back up, it goes away.
Some fonts seem to be worse about that than others (at least for me). But I'm not sure what causes it. It must be something about rendering (how Inkscape displays it on the computer screen).
What operating system are you using? (I'm on Windows.)

Re: Splotchy text
I have Win10. I can try it on Linux too tomorrow.
Re: Splotchy text
I tried it on Linux. There are not splotches after the text.
However, I should like to use my laptop with Win10, so I hope, there is some solution. Is it a bug?

Re: Splotchy text
Probably related to the cairo renderer.
As far as I know linux has its own cairo boundled in the os, while on win inkscape has to install it (?).
Probably it is way advanced to install a newer cairo version and make it default to inkscape, that even developers won't suggest doing that.
You can go back to 0.48 -it has better font management some way too.
