Cut and Paste Help

Postby OnionPatch » Sun Jan 02, 2011 6:23 am

I've tried using a turorial I found on youtube for using the bezier tool to outline a shape you wish to cut out of your image, but I'm not having any success. Basically I end up with a outline of the shape and nothing else.

Here's the tutorial I tried to follow. After 2:20, I have my shape. Then I'm stuck. Also, what is that yellow circle surrounding his mouse pointer? I can help feeling there is some additional bits and bobs concerning set up prior to doing this tutorial that are 'assumed'.

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I can't view the tutorial, but if you can tell me which techniqe you're using, I can probably help you. I'm guessing it's Clip, Difference or Intersection? Or if not, whatever the step where you use the new path to "cut out" the shape -- I need to know what it's called.

Basically I'm thinking you have one thing on top that needs to be on the bottom, or vice versa.
