I've got some text in my Inkscape file that I can't change the color of and can't convert to a path (two things I need to do).

Whenever I try to color it, I get: "Path is undefined."

Whenever I try to covert the text to a path, I get "Group of 1 object in layer TheLayerName..." or, if I ungroup that one object from itself (??) I get "No object to convert to path in the selection."

I really need to get these text characters colored and converted to paths.

What type of an object is it then? When you ungroup, what does the Statusbar say?

That's alright. I got it fixed. I was selecting incorrectly.
