Hi!
I wonder if there is an easy way to cut/crop stuff that sticks outside the canvas. For example I created a user icon which I then wanted to use to create a group icon which consists of three users (See attached screenshot).
The group icon itself is basically done and I'd like to reuse it for "Add User", "Edit User", "Delete User" icons. Unfortunately the current user icon has some areas that stick out of the actual canvas. These areas are not shown when I export to PNG, but for further work with the icon I find them quite annoying (for example the borders of the canvas cannot be seen anymore).
Is there a way to crop everything that sticks out of the canvas, in order to make it look nice for further work?
Regards
Ralf

Hello,
Group all objects and draw image-size rectangle... clip group with rectangle.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Re: Cut objects that overleap the canvas?
Hi tylerdurden,
I have grouped the existing objects together in one group and then I drew a rectangle that is exactly the size of the canvas...
...but how do I "clip group with rectangle"? Can you point out which menu / which tool is used to do this?
...Nevermind, I just found it myself: Object => Clip => Set
Thanks for the help!!!!

You don´t need to crop or clip the page content for export BTW. Just export the actual page size and everything beyond will be clipped automatically- if this helps in your case.
