Hi,
One of my colleagues would like to use Illustrator (Adobe CS6, I think) to open some svg files I created with Inkscape, but Illustrator complains about there being "too many nested groups". Any hints on how I could "fix" the svg so that Illustrator is happier?
Thanks in advance,
Antony
PS: I realize that this is not really "help with using inkscape" so if a moderator wants to move this to another sub-forum, please do so!

Re: Illustrator complains about too many nested groups
I belive illustrator would be fine with plain svg.
Save to that instead of inkscape svg.
Good luck!

Re: Illustrator complains about too many nested groups
Those nested groups should refer to sublayers in Inkscape or Groups of grouped objects and it could make a trouble for Illustrator (different treatment of layers and groups among these two sw`s). I`m not quite sure if just saving as a plain svg would solve the thing. Perhaps you should try to reduce the number of sublayers (if any), reduce number of those Groups or check this topic.
