Difficulty with SVG Font Editor

Postby CreativZoo » Wed Oct 30, 2013 12:24 pm

Hi and thanks in advance for any suggestions from the community.

I am trying to create a font using the SVG Font Editor... the plan being to create a glyph set and sort the kerning out within Inskscape, then generate a .ttf file using a free online converter. I have created my glyphs, but am having all sorts of trouble getting the kerning feature to work. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong or if this feature has a bug.

Everything starts out just fine. In the Kerning Setup, I select my first glyph 'a' and my second 'b'. I hit 'Add pair' and am able to adjust the kerning without any difficulty. I can continue to add new pairs so long as none of the glyphs are repeated. So, for example, subsequent pairs might include c & d, e & f, g & h, etc. However, if after pairing 'a' with 'b', I try to pair 'a' with 'c', a dialogue box immediately appears and Inkscape closes due to an error. Unfortunately, the dialogue box is empty, so I cannot offer any technical information.

Can anyone offer some advice?
