More Fun With Spirographs, Borders

Postby flamingolady » Tue Feb 15, 2011 10:03 am

I'm still on a binge working with spirographs, and wanted to create some borders. I wanted to create something simple that won't distract from my artwork, so once again I started with a simple spirograph, added color and voila, simple borders. (note: I hope this is the correct forum for this). I'm keeping this simple, there are limitless possibilities. Enjoy.

Nice idea!
I've done a lot of borders with angular designs, but this is a great way to make them more organic. But did you squash that first spirogram? If that's the original (the first one), I'd love to have the variables, if you still have them (the numbers you put in the dialog). Most of the time, the spirograms are round, so when I come across one that's not, it makes it even more fun to play with.

(Yes this is the right place to post a tutorial :D )

, I didn't squash it. I wish I had of written down the numbers, for some reason I was thinking there had to be a way to click on the spiro and have the numbers come up, it surprised me that once they're created, they're gone! Have learned my lesson.
I do have a copy of the originals of these, if you want it, send me a PM with your e-mail address and I'd be happy to send you the svg or a png file of it. Or I could post it to an upload site if that's better.
