cannot display save or save as dialog

cannot display save or save as dialog

save as copy works fine, but somehow save as dialog window never come up. i have reinstalled inkscape. didnt do anything

any suggestions?

This sounds like a bug with version 0.48.2. It happens when you try to save an image that was previously saved to a root directory, like either C/ or like a flash drive (D/). You might try moving the image to a new folder, or installing 0.48.1. Let me find that bug report, so you can draw your own conclusions....brb
