For some odd reason when i create a path using the pen tool the path i just created i not visible so i can't edit or even touch but i can select it using selector but it doesnt show the path i can just move it around
currently using 0.46 devel because im on linux

Do you have a stroke or fill set for it? Select the path, hold Shift and click with your mouse on one of the color chips on the bottom of the screen to set the stroke to that color. You can see the path in Outline mode too, View > Display mode > Outline.
