Hi folks,
I'm new to inkscape. I want to type in a letter in a particular font (that part I can do), and then be able to modify/edit/tweak that letter to change the shape a little so I can use it as a logo. I'm sure there must be a relatively easy way to have inkscape put handles (nodes?) on the text letter so I can then pull them around as desired, add new ones where needed to modify the shape as desired, that sort of thing?
I tried selecting the letter, then using "obect to path" but nothing seemed to happen... I shotgunned around a bit more, searched a little onine, but haven't had any luck. Your help would be very much appreciated!
How can I edit a text letter?
Re: How can I edit a text letter?
Object to Path is the right way to go. You need to switch to node tool to be able to edit the handles / paths.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

I tried exactly that - but when I switched to node, there was still nothing on the letter, no handles or anything...

Got it! I guess I had to reselect the letter or something - anyhow, I don't know what I did differently than my first several tries, but this time I got handles on the letter. Yipee!!

You have to Ungroup after Object to Path before you can node edit.
Re: How can I edit a text letter?
Ungroup isn't necessary, with the node tool, one can just click on the path when the outline is highlighted.
