I am trying to install the Scale extension but I cannot unzip the files.

I tried 7zip and WinZip both failed.

I downloaded the extension from GIT.

Any ideas and suggestions?

It could be you didn't get the right file? Can you tell us exactly which file you downloaded? (There are several extensions with "Scale" in the name, so we don't automatically know which one.) Please give us the link to it, too.

Well it has not been "solved" just that I was told where I should be asking the question
directly to the developer not in the group forums as it is not a "Inkscape" problem per se.

The extension file is called Inkscape-master.zip, of course now I cannot find the Git folder.

Oh, I see what the problem is. At least it would be a problem for me, using Windows 7.

Windows 7 doesn't allow me to extract zip files inside Program Files. I have to do it in the Downloads folder, or on the desktop or something like that. And then I move everything to Program Files after it's extracted.

I couldn't tell you how many times I've tried to do it, and it never works. I always have to move it back to my Downloads folder, extract there, and then move everything to Program Files.

Wow Thank You brynn, gee I probable knew that but had not tried to extract a zip file while in Program Files.
