Extracting part of a jpeg image

Postby lesinoliva » Tue Sep 13, 2011 10:49 pm

Hi

I am new to inkscape.

I have had some success with creating vector images.

What I would like to try and do is extract part of a jpg image.

I have a jpg image of a flower which has a background and I would like to extract just the flower.

Is this possible?

Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Yes, it's possible :D And actually I wrote a tutorial which includes both methods. Please find the PDF in this topic viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6616 and scroll down to the section called "Rendering".

Let me know if you have any problems :D

Thanks Brynn for the tutorial.

I will have a look through it and let you know how I get on.
