Hello,
I was converting files fine to pdf and then all of a sudden when I do I get, "Inkscape has encountered an error and need to close" when I try to convert to pdf.

Please help!

Hi.

It's hard to tell from that.
Some part of the svg may be causing the problem that you could clean up -like the vacuum defs option in the file menu.
Post the original svg if you cannot work it out.

It has something to do with "blurring" a shape, as when I took that element out I could save files.

At any rate, it turns out I might not need that file anyway so if I can't figure it out it's ok.

The blur filter is raster based, when you save it as a pdf, it will be represented by an embedded raster image.
Maybe it was too large with the combination of the resolution of the rasterisation of the filters and the image size.
