Making a PDF with inkscape > sizeproblem

Postby Monique » Sat Jan 16, 2010 12:32 pm

Hello,
I am from Holland and have a question. I want to make a PDF from a design i made in Inkscape. That works fine, it makes the pdf, but...
I made in "document properties" a correct custom size, the size of my pageborder is the correct one, but when i make a pdf it is 2 mm smaller on one side, while the other side is correct. How can i make it, that the size of the pdf is exactly the same as the frame i made in documentproperties?
Hope to hear from you.
Greetings,
Monique

Yes, i know that, and work with pdf creator.
But when i place in document properties:
widht: 32,60 cm
length: 22,00 cm
and i am making a pdf from that, i get a pdf in the size: 32,6 x 219,8
So i don't get the correct size. With another pdf-programm it is the same.
So the problem isn't that i can't make a pdf, but i don't get it in the exact size i need.
Greetings,
Monique

Hi monique

there is a choice when exporting to pdf or png where you choose page or selection or drawing. If your drawing goes almost all the way to the edge of the page it might be hard to tell the difference between page and drawing except for the size maybe this is your problem???
Your mind is what you think it is.

could be related to Bug #169048 in Inkscape: “White gaps around rectangles in PS/PDF”, see the details of the internal unit conversion issue described in comment #10.

Yes, i think that's the case, that there is a bug.
Does anyone know if this problem is fixed in a while in a newer version?
Or does anyone know a way to tackle it?

Well, i tried everything, every option, but it doesn't come to the right size.
Does anyone have a suggestion for a free program that can do what i want.
Because i only have to make one document, but it needs the exact right size in pdf.
I find it sad, because inkscape works perfect. But i need to have this document ready on monday.
Greetings,
Monique
