Hello!
I work at a school district and we got a new computer so we no longer have Corel (whatever version was made in 2002) and a lot of our files were made using Corel. I learned that Inkscape can open Corel files which is an amazing help but none of the text or font is showing up when opening a file. The only thing that shows up is the graphics. Why is the text not showing up? How can I fix this? Or is there a way of fixing this without having to retype everything?
Thank you!
Corel Files Missing Font
Re: Corel Files Missing Font

Welcome to InkscapeForum!
When you open the Corel file, is there a dialog that you have to OK, before it opens? Often when opening or importing different file formats, there will be a dialog, asking among other things, how to handle the text. What is that file format -- CDR? I actually don't have any such files, or I would investigate further. Would you be able to provide the file (you could attach to next reply, or upload wherever you choose and give us a link)? You could also search the forum. We've had questions about Corel files before, I just can't remember the specifics.
Are you opening or importing it? Try both. Inkscape is capable of importing some Corel files, but maybe not opening them.
Off topic:
To be honest, I wish there were some tutorial about using Inkscape with other vector formats. If I could just manage to learn enough, I would write one myself, lol! Maybe I should just buckle down and do some research
