Sozi vs Jessyink

Postby LucasMayo » Wed Nov 26, 2014 8:52 am

I am new in Inkscape and I try to make a presentation searching a prezi alternative
I found two extensions: sozi and jessyink, but I am no sure about differences.
I find some info in this post:
http://www.inkscapeforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=13329&p=51063&hilit=sozi#p51063

Appear that jessyink is no more sopported, last update is 02-2013, but appear that is more completed than sozi.

What extension do you recommended me ?

Please excuse my bad english, I am spanish

Regards

All I know is that JessyInk makes sort of a slideshow type of animation, while Sozi can make animations with javascript. I'll try to find some info about jessyink. I don't think is not supported -- I think works fine. But I'll post more later.

Ok, here we go:

JessyInk - http://code.google.com/p/jessyink/ - makes more of a slideshow type of animation
Sozi - http://sozi.baierouge.fr/ - makes more smooth animations, such as zooming or rotating (according to Extensions Repository)

It's hard to understand much about that link you referenced, because of all the missing messages (I happen to know that Pilosopong Tasyo's messages were all mistakenly deleted. They were supposed to be replaced, but apparently have not been. That's too bad, because that topic looks to have been very helpful, before PT's messages were lost.)

There are a lot of other ways to animate images made with SVG, and I'm working on a sort of overview of animation with Inkscape (but it won't be available for another couple of months). But for now, you might want to look through the box titled "Animation" in the lower middle part of this page http://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php (click on the black text of each list item, to open lists of tutorials and other info).

But I think most of those will not work for you. Probably one of those 2 above should work. I'm not familiar with prezi, so I can't suggest which one would be better.

Oh, and there might be some info in the manual that would help (Help menu > Inkscape manual).
