Hi there,

When I open a jpg up in Inkscape, I click on Path > Trace Bitmap
There is no image to preview, even though it's in the main window.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated. I have tried to change permissions for all users, but to no avail!

If you'll notice, at the bottom of the space where the Preview is supposed to be, there's an "Update" button. Every time you make a change in the trace settings, you have to click Update, to get the updated preview. I guess it's a little tricky, because your first display isn't really an update, but that's how you get the the preview to be displayed.
