Pixelation
Hi, I created a logo entirely in inkscape. I saved it as an inkscape.svg and also as a cairo.png - when i try to insert it in documents (word etc) the png is horribly pixelated...i am not scaling up....just scaling down. Any thoughts?
Re: Pixelation
Hello,
the save as cairo png uses a fixed resolution (of 72 if I remember right).
You could achieve better results by the export to png option, where you can set an optimal dpi value.
For a regular word doc printed on a regular printer, it is about 300 dpi for a non-pixelated image.
There are several threads discussing the resolution problem, like this one.
If you want to use your design in a word doc, you may think of inserting it as a clipart, which would have the best result in my opinion.

Re: Pixelation
Exporting to PNG (Ctrl+Shift+E) gives the best result. A resolution of 90 will give a 1:1 relationship between drawing (assuming that px is default unit) and exported picture.
Personally I prefer to insert pictures in Word as link. This gives the possibility to overwrite the PNG file directly without altering the word-file too. Just remember to restart MS Word to get the picture to update.
