Hi all
I've been trying to install Inkscape 0.92 on my MacBook running Sierra with the newest Xquartz and the developer downloads.
I ran the install via terminal last night for the Quartz version and it finished with no errors. However, I can't find Inkscape anywhere. The instructions sy to add to your applications, but I can't find it to add. I don't remember going through these steps on my last computer. I tried re-running the install both in terminal and Quartz's own terminal with the same results:
bash-3.2$ sudo port install inkscape +quartz
Password:
---> Computing dependencies for inkscape
---> Cleaning inkscape
---> Scanning binaries for linking errors
---> No broken files found.
bash-3.2$
I'm guessing this means that as far as macports sees it, Inkscape installed correctly. I've tried searching through finder and even went ahead and made sure I could view all hidden and system files but nothing comes up when I type in Inkscape.
Any ideas how I can resolve this?
thanks
Installed via macports but can't find Inkscape
Re: Installed via macports but can't find Inkscape
Just searched again, and finder can find some Inkscape files and folders (subs of the macports folders) but there is nothing anywhere within that that can be launched as an app...not even within the Inkscape app folder.

Have a nice day.
I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1
The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

Re: Installed via macports but can't find Inkscape
There is at least 1 other message about using macports for 0.92 (maybe 2 or 3?), already existing in this forum. Since I'm not a mac user, I don't particularly remember what they say. But certainly will have some helpful info.
