I had to send my laptop in for a new motherboard (Laptop is only a year old) and everything was working fine with Inkscape. I was able to see and use all the fonts I installed on my box. I just got back my machine a few days ago and reinstalled everything only to find there are a TON of FONTS that this build is not reading. Like I mean A TON!!!

Should I uninstall and reinstall?? I installed all the fonts when I was NOT running the program so everything should be working but it is not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!

Do other programs see all the fonts?

If so, I would uninstall and try version 0.92.2. If that fails to see the fonts, I would examine the fonts directory for any missing fonts.

TD, why 0.92.2 explicitly? Does 0.92.3 lose fonts on Windows (I assume Diana is using Windows)?

If an installation of an earlier version works, then it's back to 0.92.3 for confirmation. If .92.2 also fails, then I'd look at the OS.

Okay, so check this out. This is what I did and they FINALLY ALL showed up!!!

1) Uninstalled Inkscape (completely)
2) Rebooted my machine
3) Went into the Font Directory and deleted all the fonts (the ones that were mandatory it would not let me delete them which is what I was expecting).
4) I rebooted my machine again (I just did for the hell of it)
5) I then reinstalled ALL the fonts, again, all at once (I have a folder with all of them in there)
6) THEN I downloaded a fresh copy of Inkscape and reinstalled

When I opened up the program ALL my fonts finally showed up.

Do I know what happened? NOPE. Rebooting my machine and making sure the program was not running when installing fonts did NOT solve the issue.
Problem solved...it was many steps BUT alas it is working again (and by that I mean the most current version out there 0.92.3!!!
