I play in an alternative rock band in NC and not many of us are too talented when it comes to artwork. That being said, I am looking for somebody who would be able to help us out in the following. They are listed in order of attachments.
1.) This is the design I like most so far that an artist hand drew and made digital for us. However, its still hard to work with and would like to see if somebody could spruce this one up even more (3d, anything)
2.) This is something I came up with in inkscape that I like the concept of but seems a little too Chinease maybe and looks a little bit like two snake. It's supposed be the 2 S's in Somebody Smith. If anyone could take this idea and run with it and just leave enough room for the cd hole in the middle and an album name and band name somewhere on it. If you could come up with a cool way to draw the 2 S's and use this tutorial http://www.igmo.info/simple_glassy_orb.php that would be cool. Just something that would look good on a cd or inside cover of a liner notes.
3.) This is just the font he drew out and made digital but has no design and no life to it. Wish it could be 3d and maybe have a design or something around it. Anything that could represent the vagueness of "somebody." Ideas I have had are something as simple as a man as a silhouette.
Lastly, i am open to any design that you think would look good for a band. Check us out at http://www.myspace.com/somebodysmith and get back to me on here or at pritchie81@gmail.com
I can email original docs as needed.
Thanks in advance.

- 2nd attachment - Design I came up with, I like the idea but seems too Chinese to me and a little bit like a snake. If somebody could make something like this idea but toned down a bit and more fit for an alternative rock band.

Re: Original Rock band looking for help with art
I'll play.
I always forget that exporting to png conserves transparency. If I weren't so lazy I'd go back and put a white rectangle as the background to make all the transparent areas white.

Yeah, I'll try to come up with some images. Sounds like fun!
I've got a couple of questions, though.
How many finished products, or completed images do you need?
Are you looking just for the image to go on the CD, using the font your friend created? Or are you looking for 3 separate images?
Do you want a logo, or the CD image, or both, or more?

Here are some quick 3d text treatments. If you want to play around with text yourself it's very simple to do using the extrude or interpolate extensions.
