Joining Nodes

Postby Lucille » Thu Oct 29, 2009 3:01 am

Is there a keyboard shortcut for joining nodes? I've looked in the manual and can't find one, if there isn't a KS could we have one please?

I'm making quite a few files which use Pattern along path and it is such a pain joining all the nodes where the pattern repeats, it would be even nicer if the repeats would join themselves, but I don't want to ask for too much

Shift + J is what you want.

I explain a lot of these basics in my guide at http://www.microugly.com/inkscape-quick ... join-nodes

You can find the complete list of shortcuts at http://www.inkscape.org/doc/keys046.html

Sadly this didn't work well for me it joined all the nodes to each other, bit like spaghetti junction  I've read the manual from the link and it does say Ctrl+J joins selected nodes, so perhaps my version of Inkscape which is 21612-0906172010 might have a bug. I'll work with the join button until .47 is released and try again.

If I'm reading that number correctly, that's a pretty old build. You might like to try the one from here - http://sourceforge.net/projects/inkscap ... /0.47pre4/

Thanks for the link. I downloaded Inkscape-0.47pre4-1.win32 and it is still happening, nodes joing up all over the place with lines crossing my design.

So the button on the toolbar works, but the hotkey does not? I'll have to remember to test this myself.
