Filters Effect differs

Postby DeathPhoenix » Tue Apr 24, 2012 12:54 am

Hi,

I'm new with this application. I've created 2 layers. One for a form (object) and an other layer containing an other form.
My problem is that: If I apply a filter to my second layer object, it gently do it. But, If I apply the same filter on my first layer object, the intensity of the filter is crazy!
e.g. applying a simple blur on my second object is just blurring a little, but on my first, I can't recognize the form!?!?! I can't find any intensity setting!

How can I ensure that filter will have SAME effect on both objects??
Thank you very much.

Welcome to InkscapeForum!

Hhmm....could you show us the SVG file? The only thing I can think is that the objects may be very different sizes. Or it may be that one object has some transparency which will affect the filter, and the other doesn't, so that it appears stronger on one. There are 2 places...no, 3 places where there might be transparency applied. Check the alpha value in the Fill and Stroke dialog ("A" slider bar), and also check the Opacity (slider at bottom of dialog). Or one layer may be partially transparent. Open Layers dialog and select each layer. There an Opacity slider there as well. (I'm not exactly sure how it happens, but I'm always somehow changing the opacity for layers, without meaning to -- I think using the mouse wheel without realizing where the pointer is.....)

But if that doesn't fix it, I really think we need to be able to open the file to try and figure out what's happening, and further, how to fix it. You could attach it to your next reply, or upload wherever you choose, and give us a link :D
