Hello!

I have found Inkscape to be very helpful. But I have run into a (must be) simple problem -- but I can't proceed!

I am trying to select some text I have entered inside a box and to group them together. It seems to be this should be very simple with Inkscape. But I can't succeed.

Everywhere I have checked it says: Select the objects to be grouped and then either click the appropriate icon or do cntrl & G.

But I can't succeed in selecting both the text and the box. Either I can select the text or I can select the box -- but not both!

I tried pressing cntrl and then clicking -- but still -- only one or the other!

What am I doing wrong?

Two quick methods of selecting both:

1) Click and drag the selection box around both

2) Try shift not ctrl...
simple! Just to note that Inkscape makes use of all the different modifier keys: shift, alt, and ctrl. Oh you can always look at the Inkscape key reference (help menue)
