Hi
I am teaching myself Inkscape and need some help! I have a file that contains a drawing that is approx. 33" x 8". I don't know how to print this so it prints out on multiple pages that, when layed side by side, create the whole drawing. I either get it 1 page with the whole thing scaled to fit letter sized paper, or 1 page that has only 1/3 of the drawing. How do I print this?
Thanks!
KJ
print on multiple pages
Re: print on multiple pages
I would save it as a PDF then use Acrobat to print it to your printer. Acrobat gives a lot of control over how to print something, so you should be able to find a combination of settings that does what you want.

Thanks! I'll give it a try.

Hey - there's only room for one Kj on here.
Seriously, I've done this. I copy the SVG file to another file to preserve the original big picture.
Open the copy and select everything. You might need to make it all one group.
Then I make a rectangle the size I want to print. Then I set the clipping region
with Object->Clip->Set.
Print that, then Release the clipping region, move the rectangle, set the clipping
region again. Repeat as necessary. If your print size is an easy-to-use number
(e. g., in inches, 8 x 10), it's not too bad.

LOL!!!
Is there any way I can save it as a multi-page pdf? I have the freebie Adobe Acrobat Reader, and it won't let me tile and print, but if I can do a multipage, it might let me.
