Impossible to print the Casper ttf font in italic style

Postby AnalogueMan » Tue Apr 28, 2015 9:43 pm

Stumbled across a very frustrating problem here: I imported the ttf fonts Casper Heavy SF, Casper Light SF, Casper Open SF and Casper SF. Although Inkscape displays the Italic style of the text where I choose Italic, it refuse to print this and print it as Normal.
Whatever I try it seems to be impossible for Inkscape to print them in Italic style. When I select Text and look into the Fonts Tab both CSS and Face show only 'Normal', 'Regular' and 'Bold'.
When I save the svg file as pdf it also shows the italic style text as normal style.
Is there a possibility to get the Italic style printed?

I hope that I am not being ignored by the forum? :?:
In the meantime I figured out some workaround:
Selecting the text and then execute Object > Transform > Skew= -10
Gives the desired Italic style.
I hope someone will come up with a better idea. :)

I'd save a copy, then convert the text to paths before printing.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/
