Hello, I'm posting this here because I'm not positive it is a software issue. Could be a usability issue.

When I open Inkscape, I cannot click on anything. I go to the magnifying glass or the Bezier and it doesn't click the button no matter how many times I left click on it. The exit button works but when it asks me if I want to save my document, I cannot press Save or Cancel. I have to go to task management and close it that way.

I'm running Windows 7. I have Paint Tool SAI, Corel Paint Shop Pro X, and Photoshop Elements 7 on here and they all work fine, even when they are all open.

I opened Inkscape while PSE and SAI were open and it wouldn't let me click, so I closed everything and restarted Inkscape. The issue continued.

If anyone knows what this could be from, let me know. I will try to uninstall it and then reinstall it.

Have you got a tablet by any chance? Inkscape Input preferences seem to mess up all the time when you enable tablet input. In which case, go to the Input preferences and enable primary pointer or whatever it's called.

Thank you. Yes I do. I tried what you said and got to the Mouse part but it wouldn't allow me to check off the box. I used tab and space, and that worked. I exited out and restarted and it still didn't allow me to click with the mouse, and not with the tablet either when I switched tablet input back on.

I went to Bamboo properties and switched the pen to mouse input and this didn't work either.

I will keep trying but it must be a compatibility issue with something, or maybe a faulty download.

Don't know if there's a proper bug report for this, which would describe the workaround better howerver, it's not concerned with faulty download or anything like that. Just a setting or two in inkscape preferences. For me the setting would unglue sometimes and had to re-enable again core pointer. Make sure tablet input is enabled in inkscape, which is a separate setting.
