Thats a seriously nice looking guide. Good coverage of all the basics. Like it a lot.

Auesta guia d'aprenentatge s'adreça a artistes o aficionats que ja estan familiaritzats en l'ús de programes de dibuix vectorial i volen provar l'Inkscape. Fins i tot, si no encaixeu en aquesta definició, segur que el curs també pot ser-vos útil.

This guide has been traslated to Catalan.

hello, I'd like to translate their tutorials of Inkscape for the Brazilian community users of inkscape, if not problem.

=)

Sure. If you translate the guide, my preference is to host it myself, but if you insist on hosting the translation yourself that's ok.

Press Shift + R to reverse a gradient. Note that if the gradient is used on other objects it will be duplicated so it doesn't effect those objects.

It should be affect, not effect

Remember,
-a is for action (the verb)
-e is the noun
;) 8-)

Are you kidding? Because that little mnemonic is incorrect. Both affect and effect can be verbs or nouns.

Haha!

The first drawing I did I used (almost)all short-cut keys for my path editing. Using the tooltip status on the bottom of the screen I was able to do almost everything. However there is no shortcut key to join two nodes with a new segment so (without looking at the toolbar ) I went in search of the correct key combo. I found your inkscape guide and finally realized that there might be a button without a shortcut key combo!

I just realized that it was microUglys tut. It's a really well done tutorial!

Now, if I could just get over my assumption that everything has a key combo... I couldn't believe my own noobishness when I realized that I never once noticed the tool[control]bar.

Thanks for your many contributions to the inkscape community microUgly!

Hey, great guide! One suggestion I have if you can make changes, is to indicate that when using clones, the file size is reduced when cloning paths, as compared to what the file size would be if you were to duplicate the same path. If the path is complex and/or cloned a lot, cloning can dramatically decrease the file size.

I would be very interested to write a how to article using your article as the foundation, and resourced. If you aren't interested, I understand, but I truly hope so. It looks SO helpful.
