Hello all,
This is my first post with which seems like a silly problem, which I can't seem to fix. When I create an image the background appears to differ depending on what program I use to open. I went to document properties and set it to white, but it still returns to black in acdsee, grey in internet explorer and looks right in an image editor (photofiltre). I also looked at settings in inkscape preference, but that didn't change the situation.
Can I reset some setting? I thought it might have to do with the commandline, but when I open inkscape the result is the same.
Thanks in advance

Re: silly annoying background problem
Seems like you still have it set to transparent and not white, in the Document properties - Background make sure the Alpha (opacity) is set to 255, you won't see the chequerboard pattern in the Document settings dialogue when you do that, it should all be white.

Thanks for the response. Yes I tried that earlier, but the settings aren't saved. There is no confirmation option and opacity indication keeps returning.

Re: silly annoying background problem
thats weird, there is no confirmation popup as with many things in Inkscape, it should be saved immediately. It works for me, I click the background color and change the alpha to 255, close the popup and it works. Try changing it to some color, can you change it at all to any color and transparency?

Re: silly annoying background problem
Still no luck, I changed colors but states reverts back when opening inkscape. Ok, never mind it doesn't happen when producing pdf files and that's good enugh for me at the moment.

Re: silly annoying background problem
When you say it reverts when opening inkscape, do you mean its not being saved as the default? Cos it will only get saved ot the default new document if you save it to it. Just open a new doc, change the setting then save over the inkscape/share/default.svg
Re: silly annoying background problem
It only saves when i open a new document while running inkscape, but not when i close and restart inkscape.
This is what m default.svg says:

inkscape:pageopacity="0.0"

Re: silly annoying background problem
I just tried it and it works for me, I opened the default.svg file, changed the background and saved it. When I restart Inkscape it opens a new document with the new background color.

Re: silly annoying background problem
Could it be I don't have the right file? the default.svg i mentioned was in inkscape/share/templates!
But like i said it doesn't happen when making pdf's and that why i use inkscape.
