[Solved] Object is blurred when being exported

Postby Pingponguin » Wed May 17, 2017 11:12 am

Hello,

I have created this object with Inkscape. Its a kind of memo from an old parlour game.

When I export it to png it looks very blurred and I can't use it this way.

Image

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks and Regards,

Pingpong

I'm not sure what you mean by "URL Object". But since it's a raster file, it will become blurry if you make it larger or smaller.

Or you might not have noticed in the Export PNG dialog, if the DPI was something besides 96. It needs to be 96 to export at the original size.

If you changed the dpi on purpose, then it would be better to duplicate the original, and scale it to the size you need, before you export.

There is a traced path and the original image in the svg file.

The image can be deleted, the path filled, and the entire file can be exported as png or saved for printing as vector in PDF.

When exporting as png, note the resolution (dpi) settings of the export.
Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

Sorry, This was a mistake by setting the link to the file.

Thank you. I was wondering where the original image was. I could not find it under the path. Now I have managed to delete it.

Now I have the next issue. I have two paths for every edge, all paths are somehow grouped together and I can't ungroup them and arange them the way that I can fill the single objects with color. SVG without image

Can anybody tell me what I did wrong, or how I can fix this? Or must I do it all over again?

Ok, just like "brynn" said before.

I'd just re-trace the image, keeping the text where it is. I tried tracing using two brightness steps, and that results in filled paths which can be filled with color.

Thank you, that helped.

I still have the problem with dpi I guess. The png is still blurred. When exporting the dpi is set to 72. But how can I figure out, how dpi is in the vector graphic?

My export looks like this. The values in inch are as I need them to be:

Standard printing dpi is 300, 600 for better quality. 72dpi is less than screen dpi (dots per inch) - most screens have at least 90 pixels per screen inch.
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!

I finally got it. I took 600 dpi for the exported png file and it worked out just fine. Thanks a lot to everybody!
