How to move object(s) from one layer to another?

Postby imcon » Wed Nov 02, 2011 1:19 am

During editing I need often to move object (or group of objects) from the current layer to another layer.
The only way I know is to do Ctrl-C (copy) Ctrl-X (delete) and Ctrl-V (paste) in a new layer.
Unfortunately this is not the best way how to do it becuse you lose the placing of the object/objects.

Can someone help me to find-out a way how to do this task?

Thank yoU!

select object > Shift-PgUp to move to next layer up or Shift-PgDn for next layer down
all I did was look in that layer menu

As PatJr said use the shortcuts for moving objects between layers.

I just wanted to add that there is also the option Paste in place that preserves the position, although it's more commonly used when dealing with groups.
just hand over the chocolate and nobody gets hurt
