Feedback on B-Movie game art.

Postby hannahw » Mon Jul 29, 2013 8:24 pm

Hey all!

First post here. Been using InkScape for a wee while so I know the basics. Currently working on a game for the Dare To Be Digital 2013 competition, it's called "Attack of the Ghastly Grey Matter" (Android Tablet) and I'm using IS to create environments and some other bits and bobs.

We're going for a very basic illustration-y "paper cut out" style reminiscent of Samurai Jack and the whole game is very tongue-in-cheek and B-Movie centric.

I'll be treating this post as a bit of an art dump - we only have just under two weeks until the end of the competition!

Started to make some app icons for my team to choose from. The middle and right ones are the most unfinished (you can see they're missing shading and detail in areas), but they're beginning to take shape!

hahaha... I`m glad it stayed - even if it`s for the chaos!

Very nice job! I`m not that much for this kind of games, but I fancy your approach and art work (cars especially). Full sails!
Would love to see more from you.

Thank you! Yeah, the art style is something we've spent a lot of time working. We wanted something a bit fresh and different. Will be posting more artwork later, crunch time has set in. :)
