Blurry PNGs

Postby JamesUpNorth » Tue Mar 08, 2016 3:03 am

I have seen posts on this and have tried numerous suggested fixes to no effect. PNGs I make appear terrifically sharp in V0.91. But when uploaded to a webapge that does not do any conversion but saves and disaplays the image as a PNG, the PNG is blurry and looks very poor.

Fixes? Suggestions?

2 PNGs attached:
- One 0.91 SVG showing great sharpness in text
- The other a screen capture of the same after uploading showing same text blurred; (notice difference especially to website text at top).

This happens whether I am dealing with text or images/objects. Again, website saves images as PNGs with no conversion.

Thank you

Hi.
How large in pixels the text could be in size? Your document says 344 pixels at 14dpi.

Cheers

Image size on website is 368 x 100.

To cover myself, as we are dealing with text, attached are:
- One SVG file of different text before being uploaded as a PNG onto the same web page, again with no conversion, and;
- Another PNG screen capture showing this text showing up on the website as nice and clean.

Thanks

Not sure what I´m looking at, because your cropped snapshot is already 270x240 px wide.
I´m pretty sure you can´t get a sharp raster image display at this size:

Except you use an SVG instead.

@Jamesupnorth: to make this easy for us, please upload:

- a screenshot of your export settings (File -> Export to PNG)
- the png as exported from Inkscape
- the png as downloaded from the website again (right-click on it in your browser, then Image -> Save...)
Something doesn't work? - Keeping an eye on the status bar can save you a lot of time!
