Some Files Print, Others Don't -- Why?

Postby michaelnorth » Mon Mar 14, 2011 9:24 am

I'm new to Inkscape and baffled why some of the simple files I have created print just fine in both .pdf and paper form, while others, using the same elements in the design, do not. In these cases, all I get is a blank, white output -- nothing there. I can't figure it out- have tried eliminating objects one-by-one -- there seems to be no particular pattern to the print failure, or any particular element that causes printing to fail. Am I missing something simple? What could be the problem? Using Inkscape .48.1 on Windows XP Pro.

I can't offer a reason why it happens, but a workaround that I use to print files from Inkscape is:
File->save as->PDF
then, open PDF using acrobat and print from there.

Great, thank you. That does work and allows me to continue.
