Inkscape 0.48.4 where are the bounding box settings?

Inkscape 0.48.4 where are the bounding box settings?

I recently upgraded to Inkscape 0.48.4r and I'm having trouble finding the controls to set my preferences for the bounding box.
I'm making patterns, and I want to use the geometric bounding box to avoid the big gaps you can get between pattern tiles.
The bounding box settings don't appear in Inkscape preferences
under tools or shapes. Where should I be looking?
