Setting stroke and fill before drawing path

Postby trpnblies7 » Fri Feb 27, 2009 4:00 pm

Is there anyway to set the intended stroke style and fill color before actually drawing a path or object? The dialogues are inaccessible until after an object is drawn, and I find it to be a bit counter intuitive having to always change them after the fact.

No, you can't sorry. I think there's room for improvement in this area.

If you already have a path in the fill and stroke you want, you can set a default style for the next one you draw by double clicking on the tool :tool_ellipse: :tool_star: :tool_pen: ...

Thanks for the replies! I do think this would be a nice feature to have in the future.

You can set Fill and Stroke color in advance, but not the rest of the options like stroke width.

With a drawing tool active (for example Rectangle tool) and no objects selected click on the color palette to set future fill, and Shift click to set future stroke color. You can check what style will be applied by looking at the top right corner, there are fill and stroke boxes on the toolbar.
