Erase part of an ellipse

Postby julieindy0507 » Tue Nov 10, 2009 9:03 am

Hello everybody.

I'm a beginner with Inkscape (and also French, so sorry for the errors I could make ;) ). I would like to create a logo which represents the Earth with an orbit around. The fact is that I would like to "erase" the part behind the Earth but I don't find how to do.

Thank you for your help :)

Make an arc, not a whole ellipse.

Indeed, there are many ways by which to accomplish this! I just wanted to point your attention to the resources in the Help menu. The Tutorials item (7 tutorials) is especially suited for beginners. But the best overall resource is Inkscape Manual.
