hello everyone! looking for someone to point me in the right direction. im looking to create a gcode for a very simple task but im a lil confused on how to model it. i would like to cnc a small square that is 2cm by 2cm and 2cm deep on a piece of wood.
a) how big should my canvas be?
b) should i just make a square with the shape tools that is 2cm by 2cm?
c)will i be creating the tool passes with inkspace?

Re: newbie confused in modeling work-help!
Inkscape offers a few different opportunities with gcode. One is with Extensions menu > Gcodetools. They are not intuitive, but I could give you the basic steps. Or else there are some other extensions (which need to be installed) that produce gcode. I have a list of them on this page: https://forum.inkscapecommunity.com/index.php Look at the bottom of the page, and click on "Export" then scroll down to the Gcode section.
Or you might prefer to use Inkscape to make the drawing, and some other program to produce the gcode. That's research that you will need to do for yourself, which program you want to use.
I can't really answer your specific questions. But someone else might be able to. Just give it a little more time for more people to see your message.
