As the picture will show, I want to make a text, name or number, and have a slightly larger solid background behind. And I want the background to be the same shape. Like what's circled in this picture
Thanks
How to add a background to a text with the same shape?

Hi.
1. Create text.
2. Duplicate.
3. Use linked offset.
4. Give it a gradient fill.
5. Increase Stroke width on original text, set fill to white.
If you don't want the rounded appearance of the linked offset - edit the nodes manually.
To get Multiple "backgrounds" (Black - Green) - Repeat step 2 and 3 and use regular fill

Good Luck.
