Anchor point of text for both location and rotation

Postby d2walter » Wed Jan 30, 2019 2:39 am

When I try setting text to align right and then rotate it, it rotates around the middle of the text. I am confused by this behavior and expected the text to rotate around the end point.

Simply trying to adjust the resulting text position is also a huge problem because this text will eventually be internationalized and I don't know how long the final text will actually be. Regardless of the length of the text though, I know where I want it to end so I would like to set the anchor point for both the location and the rotation based on the end point of the text. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can achieve this?

The rotation center can be set to the text anchor.

Have a nice day.

I'm using Inkscape 0.92.2 (5c3e80d, 2017-08-06), 64 bit win8.1

The Inkscape manual has lots of helpful info! http://tavmjong.free.fr/INKSCAPE/MANUAL/html/

As far as I know, the text anchors can only be changed by changing how the text is justified (right, left or center). But rotation is a separate thing, in Inkscape (as TD showed).
