hi can anyone help. Im new to incscape and have been having one or two issues once ive started using more functions. dunno if ive turned something on by accident!
1) although my image looks perfect in inkscape (see attachment saddler.svg), when I go to signcut the text seems to overlap (see attachment signatach). how do I make this work so it will cut as one piece? many thanks

Re: unwanted overlapping text/graphic
Hello there!
Your svg uses the Caflisch Script Pro Regular which is not a common font.
For best result, convert all the objects with magenta to paths and combine them together.
That is by selecting them all,
pressing Ctrl+Shift+C for converting texts to paths,
Ctrl+Shift+G to ungroup the letters,
Ctrl+K to combine paths together.
After that, you may change the path's direction of the path over the left ear,
and combine it with the magenta to create a hole.

Re: unwanted overlapping text/graphic
Oh yes it is a better way indeed.
Well just saw another thing on the eyes. You can make those ellipses to full ones, not just arches with the ellipse tool.

Re: unwanted overlapping text/graphic
thanks for your help everyone. think ive sorted it now. can I just ask another one tho about combining paths? I did a "flourish" type logo and it has 3 seperate paths as I wanted some swirly bits to come off in another direction. Ive selected all of the paths and pressed ctrl+k and all it has does is make the largest path thinner. ive also tried adding one path to the large one at a time and it does the same thing. what am I doing wrong? thanks so much!
Re: unwanted overlapping text/graphic
Maybe some of the directions of the paths should be reversed, before combining them together.
