Show background in hollow text

Postby Flash2009 » Sun Oct 04, 2009 7:43 am

Hello,

I'm a new Inkscape user and i would like to create a hollow and transparent text, where the
underlying layer (containing an imported picture) shows in the hollow / transparent part of
the text.

So only the "inside" of the letters has to show the background layer.

The "outside" of the text needs to show a solid (non transparent) color or has to be completely
transparent, not showing any other underlying layers.

Is there a simple tutorial to do this ?

Thanks for helping. :-)

read the manual. the link is at the site you downloaded inkscape from. you make your text. set the stroke to the color you want. set the fill to "none". you're done.

Have a look into using the text as a clipping path (see the microugly's quick guide)
