Hello Inkscape Community,
I am using a test gif image to learn how to enlarge a text based logo that is originally in a bit map type format. So far I have learnt how to trace the bitmap to get paths around the characters. I then increase the canvas size and then click and drag holding the ctrl key down to constrain the proportions. My troubles occur when trying to fill the insides of the paths completely with colour; I have tried using the paint bucket but it leaves gaps between the path and where it thinks the edges are. I think the Fill and Stroke is required instead of the paint bucket but I cannot seem to select the individual characters as it interprets the whole lot as a single object. How do I get around this. I will upload the image showing the problem.

Re: Help Needed!
Inkscape is seeing your text as a single complicated path. You can break apart (path menu) to make it into many complicated little paths. Then you would hAve to select each set of paths for each letter and group/or recombine them. But for best results you mught want to delete the one or two innermost paths for each letter first.
Here is an unnecessarily complicated graphic to explain what I mean.

Your mind is what you think it is.
Re: Help Needed!
the paint bucket has option to grow the fill by x pixels. make your selection here and then fill. it it's not right, undo, change the grow pixels and try filling again.
another way is to:
convert the inside path and outside path to a stroke
select both paths and path combine from menu
now set the fill and it should become solid filled.

Re: Help Needed!
I will have a go and will confirm success or failure later on.
