How could I turn on autokerning? I know that I can manually correct pairs or all text, but that is very inconvenient. For example "AV" or "To" should be corrected by default as in Scribus or Latex or in Adobe software. I hope that this functionality is already available, I just cannot find it. Any hint?
ps
I checked font that I used - it has kerning info.

Re: autokerning
Probably Bug #219864 in Inkscape: “Kerning pairs not working, Windows”
(Note: Internal kerning based on the info provided by the font is always on - there is no option in Inkscape to "disable" it. One can always manually kern a pair of characters: Kerning, Shifting, and Rotating Characters (Inkscape manual))

Re: autokerning
I've noticed the problem too. I'm using a font that I created myself and it has several kerning corrections in it. I've noticed that the font's own kerning is applied in linux versions of inkscape 0.48.2, but not on the Windows-7 version at my own pc. It's really frustrating because it means that I can't use my font in inkscape unless I switch my entire pc to linux. Or I might even need to get used to adobe illustrator.
One more thing: I've noticed that the kerning works fine on my Gimp2 installation on windows-7 and I've heard that both gimp and inkscape use the freetype library for rendering fonts. So I'd like to know whether or not I could somehow fix this kerning problem on my windows inkscape so that it works just like gimp and linux inkscape.
