Autosave?
Autosave?
Does Inkscape have an autosave function? Sometimes it just insta crashes and it's just gone, no crash save is done either. The crash save seems only to be done when Inkscape catches a crash error, but when the entire program crashes and immediately is closes and gone from Windows memory all unsaved is lost. Would be nice to be able to enable an autosave at custom frequency. Is any of the sort possible? Even just a timed reminder asking "want to save?" and a button "save" and "save as". I'd love that.
Re: Autosave?
Yes. Look into the settings at Edit > Preferences > Input/Output > Autosave. I always recommend activating it to everyone I meet

Sweet, just what I was looking for. Thank you Moini!
Re: Autosave?
Just noticed that autosaves are created even if no changes was made to the document. That's a real shame: it's unnecessary use of the harddisk, but even worse it overwrites previous autosaves if the max amount of autosaves is reached. This means it becomes a problem to leave my computer for a while to do other stuff because Inkscape will just keep making the same clone autosaves until it begins overwriting previous ones.... it's still better than no autosave though.
Re: Autosave?
Mmh, yes. That's a concern. Can you create a feature request for this at https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape , if there isn't one yet?
